The New England Home Show at the Boston World Trade Center featured a larger WoodExpo 2012 area than last year’s WoodExpo 2011. Rough Cut’s Tommy MacDonald was on-hand, along with the Woodcraft booth represented by the Woburn Massachusetts store. WoodExpo 2012 was organized by Eli Cleveland, assisted by Justin DiPalma, Scott Oja, Rick Waters, Neil Lamens and Bruce Somers.
Handcrafted fine furniture was exhibited by novice/hobbyist woodworkers, NBSS up-and-coming students, self-taught professional artisans and The Furniture Institute of Massachusetts.
From 18th century reproductions to contemporary designs, the artisans shared their knowledge and projects with visiting guests. Experienced craftsman demoing and exhibiting at the show were Rob Bois, Allan Breed, Glen Guarino, Thomas J. MacDonald, Kevin Mack, Tom McLaughlin, Ryan Messier, Terry Moore, Freddy Roman, and many more. The video below contains all of the furniture exhibited at WoodExpo 2012.
Competitions were held in 2 categories and 3 awards were given per each category. Peoples Choice, Best Craftsmanship and Best Student Work awards were given in the NBSS category, and Best in Show, Most Creative and Step Stools were the awards for the WoodExpo Open category.
