ZHEN Knife Kits from Woodcraft

Great Chefs’ Tools Begin with ZHEN Knife Kits from Woodcraft

Craft custom knives for your favorite chef or yourself with Woodcraft’s new ZHEN Premium Damascus Knife Kits and Knife Scale Stock. Designed with the professional chef in mind, ZHEN Knives are the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys cooking, whether an amateur or professional, and making the high quality knives is easy with these kits. Years of Japanese knife making skill and technology go into forging the knife blades in these kits.

Whether you want to chop, slice, carve, mince, pare or otherwise cut ingredients for salads, entrees, side dishes, bread or desserts, the ZHEN Premium Damascus Knife Kits feature blades that will perform like pros.

Each high quality blade is crafted by forge welding 66 layers of steel around a core layer of VG–10 steel (HRC 60-62) so each blank has its own unique surface pattern and razor-sharp edge. The bread knife is constructed from high carbon stainless steel (HRC 54-56) and features a granton edge (non-stick scallops) for easy slicing.

“This is an area we have explored for some time but did not find any high quality product until now,” product manager Ben Bice said. “Customers can choose from six knife kits: chef’s knife, cleaver, parer, santoku, nakiri and bread knife. Each kit includes the high quality knife blade and stainless steel rivets to attach it to the handle” to finish your knife. Woodcraft offers a line of knife scale (handle) stock (sold separately) that includes a range of popular woods like the black stabilized redwood burl used to make the knives pictured here.
