Coopered Leg Table Featured on Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac Season 3 Premiere PBS Episode

On the premiere of Rough Cut Season 3, Tommy Mac creates a beautiful ambrosia maple Coopered Leg Table inspired by Seguin Moreau Cooperage in Napa Valley California.

Tommy learns of the wine-barrel making process during his trip to the Cooperage  where they make wine barrels from the finest Oak wood which comes from Europe, France, Russia and America.  Each barrel has it’s own unique toast which comes from the staving, heating and building process.

With that in mind, Tommy returns to the Rough Cut shop to build the ambrosia table using the techniques of coopering and staving learned during the Cooperage tour.  Check out the entire 30 minute episode, right here:

We’ll have more from Rough Cut Season 3, with a look at steam bending a Red Oak Lounge Chair and a trip to a Rhode Island school where steam bending boats is an every day class, so stay linked,

auf Wiedersehen…Frank!
