Welcome to the Woodcraft Woodworking Adventures Community!

One of the best things about our hobby (woodworking) is learning and sharing from other woodworkers. Woodworkers of all skill levels and focus – turners, carvers, cabinet-makers and the weekend hobbyist can benefit from a little help of inspiration every now-and-then. Help, focus and inspiration are the goals of Woodworking Adventures.

Within the “pages” of this site you can create discussion groups and forums, share photos of your work with other woodworkers, network, enter Woodcraft contests and read our blog. Together we can build a community of woodworkers that support and inspire each other. Now go make some sawdust!

Our Blog
Woodworking Adventures, where you can read about other woodworkers, techniques and tools, and learn the story behind some of your favorite tools and personalities. We’ll be breaking the mold of a typical blog and hope to be a place where, not only can you read about your hobby, but also contribute. Let’s enjoy the adventure of woodworking together!
Customer Gallery
It’s your turn to show off! If you liked the Woodcraft Brag Book then you’ll love our Customer Gallery. Strut your stuff a little, you spend a lot of time on your passion. Share your best pieces with your fellow woodworkers! We accept submissions from woodworkers of all skill levels, so whether you’re a Scott Phillips or Tommy Mac wannabe, or just a weekend shop warrior let us see what you’ve got!

Wood LP Spins Music to the Ears

Wooden LP Record Player

Before a tree becomes a beautiful and useful piece of furniture, turning, or carving, it starts as a living, breathing part of nature for the eyes to behold. As it develops in height, it also grows in diameter producing rings which give away it’s age like that of wrinkles on a human face. How does a tree produce annual rings? Every plant and tree has a central stem called the trunk, which connects the tree to the ground. This trunk is the bridge that pumps up the nutrients picked from the soil, and the water absorbed by the roots to the branches out to the leaves. The trunk also... Read More

After our Woodcraft Magazine blog on the Wheelchair Woodworking Shop, we were contacted by Carl Smith, a disabled woodworker who uploaded his handmade workbench photo to our Woodcraft Facebook page. The bench has a built-in grate area to catch the shavings from his Jet lathe with bed extension. After some commentary back and forth, and a phone call or two, we were fortunate to learn about Carl and his story. Carl was an auto mechanic working on his true passion, hot rods. He also worked at Staples Distribution Center as a material handler and fork lift operator. On the side, he was very... Read More

This was really different, and the music like something out of a Rush album or the Beatles played backwards!!! But the concept inclusion of making something with wood (an old technology) with computerized scanning equipment from today’s technology is a good mix. Thanks for your support!…Frank

The members of The Patriot Woodworker are going to soon be embarking on our Challenge Coin Display Campaign N0.4. We build these displays and then send them off to our Wounded Warriors in the hospitals. The displays will provide a home for the troops Challenge Coins they worked so hard to earn.
We are also proud to call Woodcraft our friend. Woodcraft has the interest of our American fighting men and women at heart, and that is a wonderful thing in today’s retail world. Thank you Woodcraft!
If anyone would like to participate in our display build, please contact us or me. My contact info is here on Woodworking Adventures.
I am sorry for not keeping this group up to date, we got hammered over the holidays, and now that we are back in the ”Groove” I hope to spend more time here and introduce folks to wonderful ways you can help our guys and gals coming home from war, through woodworking and volunteerism.
For starters, do you know a vet in your neighborhood? Is he or she disabled? Take a walk down your street. Look at their fencing, their doors, windows, lawn. Does it look they could use a little help? Breaking out the ol screw gun and driving some screws in that fence picket to secure it back where it belongs, goes along ways in that vets life. Little things like that pile up in their lives until it all becomes overwhelming. So, jump out there, help em out, and have fun!

That is one of the most interesting writes ups Frank. First, I always thought one could count on the 1 ring equals 1 year rule no matter the species. Apparently not so, two to four rings per year seem to be the average. And the music is incredible, it even sounds like a tree if [...]
